The Dojo
strives to instill personal discipline, confidence, focus, total fitness and
self-defense abilities in our kids. Our training system has been designed to
help kids stay motivated and feel good about their progress.

We believe our Instructors
have such impact with the children that they must have specific training in the
skills of goal setting and motivation, so each one is fully trained and
certified to work with children of all ages.

| Here's what parents can expect: during the first private orientation class, the instructor will get to know the family and the student. He or she will prepare the student for our regular classes, and at the end parents will receive the first of your child's evaluations covering many physical and mental areas. As your child starts training with us, they'll have several aids to help them at home and at The Dojo, including curriculum books. We use a motivating patch system that rewards everything from improved self-discipline to doing chores without being asked. We also recognize academic achievement and attendance. Regular classes are taught with a presence of respect yet sincere guidance. We want each student to have fun but not "goof off" fun. Classes are always upbeat and exciting. Each of our students knows we expect a 100% effort from them, but that we do realize that everyone has a rough day now and then. We want our students leave feeling they have worked hard and accomplished something. We strive to make the hour our students spend with us the best, most exciting hour of the day. Grades and outside behavior are extremely important to us. Students understand that the byproducts of martial arts training – discipline, respect, humility, and focus – should to be applied to every other area of their lives. |

| Children's safety is our number one concern. Parents of our students rave about the highly acclaimed "Stranger/Danger" classes that teach children how to handle difficult situations, such as being approached by a stranger. The classes are designed to be informative and fun, but we also teach them hands-on, practical application of how to recognize and be aware of strangers. As an organization that works heavily with kids, The Dojo wants to make sure your kids – and ours – feel confident, safe and secure. |
