| We're based in Atlanta, and we have seven convenient locations throughout the metro area (See Locations). However, our staff is very knowledgeable about other martial arts schools elsewhere, both here in Georgia and across the nation. |
| We're open six days a week, from Monday through Saturday. During the week, depending on location, our classes for Kids usually begin around 3 or 4 p.m., while Teen and Adult Classes, along with Fitness Kickboxing classes, begin in the late afternoon and early evening, after school and work. On Saturdays, our classes for all ages range from 9 or 10 in the morning until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. |
| Our Dojo Dinos program is for ages 3 ½ to 5, while the Dojo Dragons range in age from 6 to 11. And of course we teach Teens And Adults of all ages. |

Well, consider these following statistics from the Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association; International Health; Racquet and Sportclub Association and Martial Arts Industry Association: 6 million Americans regularly practice martial arts in about 13,000 martial arts schools:
- 6 million participants between ages 6 and 11
- 1 million participants between ages 12 and 17
- 3 million participants between ages 18 and 54
- And 100,000 seniors, age 55 and above, take part.
You're never too old to start martial arts training! |

| Your first official belt will be white. Then comes gold, advanced gold, green,
advanced green, purple, advanced purple, blue, advanced blue, red, advanced
red, brown, advanced brown, novice-black, and finally, black. There are also
varying degrees of black belt, such as first degree, second degree, and so on. |
| Our black belt takes four-five years to achieve, depending on the individual
student's progress. |
| Not at all. If you're a martial arts student, you'll begin at the Basic Course
level, where we teach the fundamentals of karate. After a few weeks of
training, you'll notice improvement in your muscle tone and cardiovascular
system. If you're invited to join the Black Belt or Master's Course, your
physical and mental stamina and endurance will increase dramatically. Our
Fitness Kickboxing classes are high-energy, but you're free to move at your own
pace. Don't worry about keeping up with the rest of the class; martial art of
every sort is an individual and personal experience, not a competition! |

| Yes, at the Master's Course level. |

| Tournament participation is up to each. It is not a training requirement at The Dojo. We realize that some students are more comfortable in those types of
situations, and others are not. However, we do have intra-school events
for new and experienced competitors alike, and we support the tournaments and activities sanctioned by:
| Of course. Karate is a great benefit to other activities and we have students
taking breaks all the time. Our "cyclical training system" allows breaks
without students feeling left behind. They can start back at any time
and will still remain on track. Martial arts training is a lifestyle and
can be a foundation for other cross-training activities. |

| We all know that children have very short attention spans. That's why our Instructors maintain fun, fast-paced classes at The Dojo. Our black belt takes
at least four years to achieve. During this time, kids develop personal
discipline through a system of goals and rewards, all designed to reward their
commitment to perseverance. This pattern developed at an early age will be
important for the rest of the student's life. Do children learn on their own
how to follow through with projects and tasks if they hit a bump in the road,
or are they taught to work through that difficulty? Parents, along with our
Instructors, guide them through this process. While the mature adult works
through those periods and understands them, the six-year-old needs guidance and
resolve. And these benefits will last a lifetime. |
| Not if we can help it! Basic Course members do not engage in combat or sparring
whatsoever. While one-on-one sparring is part of the Black Belt and Master's
Course training, all students wear the highest quality protective gear to
ensure that no serious injuries result. And our state-of-the-art facilities
includes an impact-absorbing mats that support and cushions our students'
muscles, tendons and bones. |
| There are very few martial arts governing bodies. We are sanctioned, however,
by the Japanese Karate Association. We're also members of industry associations such as:
| Our Instructors are all fully trained and certified by the expert staff of The
Dojo. Each instructor is also CPR and emergency-first-aid trained and
certified. |
| Not at the Basic Course level. However, one-on-one sparring drills are an
important and crucial component of your Black Belt or Master's Course
requirements, and your martial arts training as a whole. |
| No. Our Instructors stress that the martial arts training taught at The Dojo
are to be used only in self-defense situations. Kids are taught the lessons of
respect for their parents, friends, and family. However, we also teach them to
defend themselves in threatening situations. And our highly acclaimed and
respected "Stranger/Danger" seminars teach Kids how to recognize and handle
themselves in dangerous situations. |
